Cerys curates you an eclectic playlist from her extensive record collection. This week her selection includes Allison Russell, Quantic, Roy Ayers and session tracks from Damon Albarn and Derya Yildrim & Grup Simsek.

Kansas Smitty's are in session, live from Maida Vale. The band, which started as a house band for a bar in London, have recently released their latest album Plunderphonia. For the new album they've taken themes and melodies from compositions dating back to the 1920s and adapted and transformed into their own unique style.

Musicologist Chris King discusses the documentary film While You Live, Shine in which he goes in search of the oldest Western Music. Chris restored and collected records from pre-1934 America ranging from delta blues to pre-war banjo music until he went on holiday to Istanbul and found a Greek 78, leading him on a journey to explore the purpose of music in Greek communities today.
