Cerys explores the Heavens, Hells and Afterworlds with Edward Brooke-Hitching's The Devil's Atlas. With a playlist hand picked by Cerys, the music will transport you around the globe and across genres as she curates an eclectic selection from her record collection old and new. This week the selection crosses country, jazz, swing, folk, blues, reggae and dub and as it's a Halloween Heaven and Hell theme, there's a dose of the devil associated instrument, the fiddle.

Edward Brooke-Hitching is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a writer for QI and the author of The Madman's Library and The Sky Atlas. His latest publication is an illustrated guide to the heavens, hells and lands of the dead as imagined throughout history by cultures and religions around the world ranging from the Aztecs to Japanese Buddhist mythology.

Ahead of her UK live debut, Liraz tells us about her album Zan, which means Women in Farsi. Liraz was born grew up in Israel but her culture identity is Iranian (her parents moved to Tel Aviv before she was born). She also shares her admiration for Iranian superstar Googoosh.
