As Theresa May announces the reshuffle of her new cabinet and Justine Greening resigns we look at the impact for women both inside and outside of Westminster. Jane Garvey is joined by the political commentator Jane Merrick.
Violence against women could become significantly less visible in police-recorded crime figures when a new counting method comes into effect, warn researchers at Lancaster University. One of the authors of the report Professor Sylvia Walby from the Violence and Society UNESCO Centre at Lancaster University joins Jane.
Swedish artist Margareta Magnusson has written a book, The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning, about putting your house in order before you die. The author who describes herself as somewhere between eighty and a hundred talks to Jane about why she thinks shedding unnecessary things is so important at any age, but particularly as you near the end of your life.
As many of us address try to cut down on our drinking after Christmas for health reasons do we think enough about how our drinking affects others? How does being the adult child of an alcoholic shape your life? Hilary tells her story of growing up with an alcoholic mother and her lovely Uncle David, the only adult to intervene and help her.
The winner of the T.S. Eliot prize for poetry will be announced next week and on the shortlist is Caroline Bird. She joins Jane to discuss her nominated collection 'In These Days of Prohibition' and how seeking treatment in rehab inspired her work.
