Since the creation of Soulwax in 1995, David and Stephen Dewaele have consistently pushed the boundaries into new and innovative territory. In addition to Soulwax, the brothers continue to tour the globe as 2manydjs, have their DEEWEE record label and studio, Radio Soulwax - a visual radio station and app, and the Despacio project with James Murphy.

Their last album, FROM DEEWEE, was recorded with their band in one take at their studio in Ghent, Belgium. They played in session for 6 Music at Maida Vale earlier this year and, of late, we've been thoroughly enjoying the beat-filled beast of a track that is Is It Always Binary?

The Soulwax brothers follow in the footsteps of The Chemical Brothers, who shared their Ghosts Of Christmas Past, Present and Future mix in 2015.

Before Soulwaxmas, we limber up with another trip to the Desert Island Disco. And WHAT a selection from listener Bob Earle: gardener by day, Dursley Collective DJ by night. Bob brings it, and then some, with tunes by John Davis & The Monster Orchestra, Baby'O, Phreek Plus One, Sunkids featuring Chance, and Phibes.

And there are more tracks from some of our Compilations of the Year, including Zambian Zamrock and an absolute belter from Lyn Collins, whose just one of the artists feautured on James Brown's Funky People Vol. 2.
