Lauren's joined by Mr Good Times, Norman Jay MBE, for her penultimate show of 2017.

Norman and his brother Joey were born in Notting Hill, to West Indian parents. As the Good Times Sound System (the name was inspired by that excellent Chic song), the pair made their carnival debut in 1980.

Joey loved his reggae, Norman was a bit of a soul boy (and had been influenced by the music scene in NYC, where he forged lasting friendships with the likes of Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles).

They set up at 37 Cambridge Gardens, with second hand-gear and homemade speakers, and returned to play for the next eight years.

Still gigging regularly, Norman was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2002 for "deejaying and services to music". His upcoming live dates include a New Year's Eve shindig at the Prince Of Wales in South London.
