麻豆社 investigation reveals millions of pounds of the Queen's money invested offshore

Confidential documents seen by the 麻豆社's Panorama programme have revealed that 拢10m from the Queen's estate has been invested in offshore funds.

Confidential documents seen by the 麻豆社's Panorama programme have revealed that 拢10m from the Queen's estate has been invested in offshore funds based in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda. The Queen's investments are handled by the Duchy of Lancaster who told Panorama: 'All of our investments are fully audited and legitimate.' It is perfectly legal, and there's no suggestion tax was being avoided, but it has started a debate about whether the monarch's cash should be going offshore. So, this has attracted criticism from many - but, given that the Queen, or her estate have done nothing illegal - is the criticism unfair? Vinny got the views of the Daily Mirror's Associate Editor Kevin Maguire and businessman Irwin Armstrong.

Also on the programme, a bill to lower the voting age to 16 was defeated in Westminster on Friday. The Private Members Bill, brought by Labour's Jim McMahon, was debated in the House of Commons with the Conservatives accused of sabotaging the bill during often heated exchanges across the floor. So should 16 and 17 years old be allowed the vote or do you think they're just too young to form intelligent political opinions? Former Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik and former Conservative MP, Edwina Currie joined Vinny to debate.

And, a row has erupted at North Down and Ards Borough Council after a motion to remove prayers at the start of council meetings was put forward. The Green Party introduced the motion saying it was "not inclusive of those of different religions and beliefs" to have prayers at each meeting. But the DUP Mayor Robert Adair hit back, accusing the Green Party of attacking Christian values. Vinny got the views of Rev David McIlveen and commentator Malachi O'Doherty.
