There is a currently a trial period that has been running for the last 12 weeks which permits taxis to use bus lanes on the east and west Belfast Rapid Transit routes and which is due to end this weekend. The council will now write an official letter of support to the Department for Infrastructure. Is it better for the traffic flow for taxis to be in bus lanes? Does this help the new BRT route? We hear from Belfast taxi group member William McCausland and commentator Newtown Emerson.
