North West Judging
Creative culinary competition. The remaining north west chefs cook for judges Matthew Fort, Prue Leith and Oliver Peyton and guest judge Lady Claire MacDonald.
Great British Menu is back and the nation's top chefs are competing for the ultimate prize - the chance to cook at a banquet held at the Palace of Westminster, in celebration of everyday great Britons honoured by the Queen. In the year of the Queen's 90th birthday, the chefs have been challenged to showcase contemporary cuisine and demonstrate the transformation in British food during her historic reign. The 24 competing chefs have travelled the country meeting great Britons who have been recognised for their tireless and selfless work for charities, for local communities or for their country.
Today, the two remaining north west chefs are cooking for judges Matthew Fort, Prue Leith and Oliver Peyton. Joining them is guest judge Lady Claire MacDonald OBE, who has published 18 cook books over a 40-year career. There are stand-out dishes from both chefs making it a difficult contest to judge. It is the dessert course that seals the fate of the chefs and the north west champion is revealed.
