Gershwin Rediscovered
Leo Green presents the closing concert from the Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2015. Featuring Laura Mvula, Gregory Porter, Eska and Rebecca Ferguson.
Leo Green presents live coverage of the closing concert from Cheltenham Jazz 2015, the premiere performance of Gershwin Rediscovered. This is the work of arrangers Fabio D'Andrea and Troy Miller. Collectively known as Re-Ignite, this is their homage to those giants of 20th Century music, George and Ira Gershwin. For this performance they bring a contemporary sound to many of the Gershwin's best known works. These include Summertime, But Not For Me, Someone To Watch Over Me and I Got Rhythm. These are performed by four of the most distinctive voices from today's generation of singers; Laura Mvula, Gregory Porter, Eska and Rebecca Ferguson. They are accompanied by the 麻豆社 Concert Orchestra, which is also featured in new settings of George Gershwin's Three Preludes and the Lullaby For Strings.
