Gaeilgeoirí an Chogaidh Mhóir

Documentary in which actor and writer Tony Devlin explores the story of Irish language speakers during WWI through the writings of Donegal priest Fr Pádraig Mac Giolla Cheara.

Tony Devlin, writer and actor, explores the story of Irish language speakers in the First World War through the writings of Donegal priest Fr Pádraig Mac Giolla Cheara. The documentary on the Great War, filmed in Ireland, France and Belgium, is based on a first-hand testimony of the Ulsterman who wrote from the front about how the war impacted on both soldiers and civilians.

Déanann Tony Devlin, scríbhneoir agus aisteoir, scéal lucht labhartha na Gaeilge sa Chéad Chogadh Domhanda a fhiosrú trí scríbhinní le sagart Conallach, an tAthair Pádraig Mac Giolla Cheara.

Is scannán faisnéise é seo ar an Chogadh Mhór, a scannánaíodh in Éirinn, sa Fhrainc agus sa Bheilg, agus tá sé bunaithe ar fhianaise ó bhunfhoinse an Ultaigh seo a bhí ag scríobh ón fhronta ar an dóigh a ndeachaigh an cogadh i bhfeidhm ar shaighdiúirí agus ar shibhialtaigh araon.
