The Dutch film-maker and photographer Anton Corbijn talks about how he uses music in his work.
Anton began his career as a music photographer when he saw the Dutch musician Herman Brood playing in a caf茅 in Groningen around 1975. From the late 1970s the NME featured his work on a regular basis and would often have a photograph by him on the front page. One such occasion was a portrait of David Bowie wearing a loincloth backstage in New York when starring in The Elephant Man. He then got involved with music videos, and with collaborated with a wide range of globally-recognised artists.
Here he talks to Edith about directing Depeche Mode, Nick Cave and Nirvana, as well as making the Ian Curtis biopic Control. He also discusses his latest film A Most Wanted Man, which is based on John le Carr茅's 2008 novel of the same name.
