An Oidhche ron Nollaig

A combination of verses, music and illustrations that captures the excitement and anticipation of Christmas Eve.

Cuiridh "An Oidhche ron Nollaig" an cèill aoibhneas an ama seo tro aithris shònraichte, dealbhan mìneachail agus ceòl snasail. Bheir na rannan dhuinn dealbh den ràithe, den deasachadh san dachaigh agus an dùil ri cèilidh anmoch bho Bhodach na Nollaig. Bidh an aithris a' riochdachadh diofar ghinealaichean san teaghlach - eadar an t-seanair na shuidhe mun chagailt agus an nighean bheag a' dèanamh a slighe suas an staidhre dhan leabaidh.

Thèid na rannan a lìbhrigeadh leis a bhàrd Aonghas MacNeacail, an cleasaiche Tony Kearney, an seinneadair Linda NicLeòid agus Eilidh Lamb à Dùn Èideann a tha deich bliadhna a dh'aois. Bidh ceòl ùr, àlainn bho Julie Fowlis agus Eamon Doorley a' cur ri fiughair na Nollaig agus togaidh na dealbhan mionaideach, dathte aig Sandra Steele air grinneas na sgeòil.

"An Oidhche Ron Nollaig" combines verses, music and illustrations to capture the excitement and anticipation of Christmas Eve. Specially commissioned verses setting the scene and the arrival of Santa will be delivered by four readers representing different generations within the home, ranging from the grandfather figure sitting by the fireside to the little girl climbing the stairs to bed.

The verses will be read by well-known bard Aonghas MacNeacail, actor and director Tony Kearney, singer and presenter Linda MacLeod and ten-year-old Eilidh Lamb, a pupil at Sgoil Taobh na Pàirce in Edinburgh. Magical new music from Julie Fowlis and Eamon Doorley will enhance the sense of anticipation, and delightful illustrations from Sandra Steele will highlight the key moments of Santa's arrival and delivery of gifts.
