Documentary following the journey of different island communities as they take part in an ambitious Gaelic arts project to commemorate the centenary of WWI.
Trusadh: Call of the Gael follows the journey of different island communities as they take part in a unique, ambitious Gaelic arts project led by Pr貌iseact nan Ealan to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.
The project explored the crucial role of islanders in the conflict - through drama, music, song and exhibition. At the heart of the project was the collaboration of the PNE team with five different island communities - in Barra, North Uist, Point in Lewis, Harris, and Stornoway.
We followed them thrown the ups and downs of tight deadlines, long days and weather disruptions, as they worked with the Barra and Point communities to create unique, and poignant community events. Events that will also resonate with the wider world, as they share the stories of how their own specific islands and areas were affected.
Trusadh: Call of the Gael - the story of what was a moving, and poignant 2014 community landmark arts event.
