1. Miss Saigon at the Prince Edward, London

This musical translates the plot of Madam Butterfly to the Vietnam War and, opening in 1989, ran for 10 years. Now it's back in a brand-new, pared-down production by Laurence Connor that shows what happens when an American GI falls in love with a Saigon girl.

Miss Saigon is booking at the Prince Edward until December.

2. Fings Aint Wot They Used To Be at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East.

Another revival of an old musical. This one opened at Stratford East in 1959, under Joan Littlewood's direction, and was a big hit. Lional Bart wrote the songs and Frank Norman the book and both have been given by a makeover by Elliot Davis for Terry Johnson's production.

Fings runs at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East until June 8.

3. Hope Place at the Liverpool Everyman

This is the second show at the refurbished Liverpool Everyman and it's a new play by Michael Wynne set in the streets around the theatre. Basically it's about a local family forced to confront their past when a young man does anoral history of the area.

Hope Place runs at the Liverpool Everyman until May 31.

4. The Last Days of Troy at the Royal Exchange, Manchester.

This is a re-telling of the Trojan War story by poet Simon Armitage. It's based on Homer's Iliad and has hit the headlines because supermodel Lily Cole plays Helen of Troy.

The Last Days of Troy is at Manchester's Royal Exchange until June 7 and then moves to Shakespeare's Globe, London
