Broken Bells
Broken Bells, aka Brian Burton and James Mercer, take to the 6 Mix decks with a selection of musical influences.
Following the recent release of their second album, After The Disco, Broken Bells take to the 6 Mix decks for two hours of musical influences and inspirations.
The duo, made up of 17-time Grammy nominated Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse) and James Mercer of The Shins released their debut self-titled release in 2010 which has since gone on to be Gold certified. The idea to start working together was born following a meeting 10 years ago at the Danish festival, Roskilde. However, it wasn't until 2009 that the duo fully announced the Broken Bells project. Fast-forward to this year and the band are currently in the middle of a European tour, supporting their new album.
In this programme, they play a selection of tracks which have inspired their creative process; which includes music from Grandmaster Flash, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and Sheila E.
