Having deposed the elected president, those in charge promise fresh elections within nine months. HARDtalk speaks to Mostafa Hegazy, who advises the interim president. He says this isn't about politics, it is a war against extremism. The Egyptian military said much the same when it previously imposed a state of emergency. That lasted 30 years. How long does Mr Hegazy think his government's will last?
