Pàirc Boubanjida/Boubanjida

Boubanjida a national park created in the 60's in northern Cameroon, is a paradise of 220,000 acres for many species...but it's an endangered paradise.

'S e pàirce Nàiseanta a chaidh a chruthachadh anns na 60an ann an Ceann a Tuath Cameroon a th' ann am Boubanjida. 'S e pàrras de 220,000 acair a th' ann, anns a bheil iomadach beathach nam measg: goibhrean fhiadhaich, prìomhadhan, cait fhiadhaich agus ailbhein, ach tha am pàrras seo ann an cunnart. Cha deach mòran a dhèanamh ris a' phàirc airson bliadhnaichean, ach tha sin a-nis air atharrachadh leis an obair a tha Paul Bour agus an sgioba air a dhèanamh. Le manaidsear na pàirce agus na daoine a tha a' fuireach ann a' cò-obrachadh le chèile, tha sùil ga chumail air gach là. Tha na daoine a tha a' fuireach anns a' bhaile faisg air làimh nas mothachail air agus tha barrachd tuigse aca mu bhith dìon na h-àrainneachd.

Boubanjida a national park created in the 60's in northern Cameroon, is a paradise of 220,000 acres for many species: antelopes, primates, wildcats and elephants... but it's an endangered paradise. Neglected for years, the park is being reborn thanks to the work of Paul Bour and his team. With the collaboration of the Park's manager and the inhabitants, the park's supervision is reinforced more and more each day. The awareness of the nearby village inhabitants is increasing and the concept of 'nature protection' is starting to be understood.
