The School of Scottish Studies of Edinburgh University has published Tocher for the last 40 years. The journal contains songs, stories, music, customs, beliefs, local history, rhymes and riddles transcribed from tapes held in the sound archive. Duncan MacQuarrie selects stories from Gilbert Clark from Islay and Donald Morrison from Mull. Both stories relate to battles fought by the MacLeans of Duart.
