A' Dol Dhachaigh
Tha Ceitidh Anna NicCuibhein a' dol dhachaidh gu Eilean na Ron 70 bliadhna an d猫idh don sluagh fh脿gail. A poignant tale of homecoming to a remote Scottish island.
Tha tr矛 fichead sa deich bliadhna bho rinn sluagh Eilean na Ron, a-mach bho cladach Chataibh imrich gu t矛r - m貌r. Anns a phr貌gram seo tha an t猫 a bha na bean-teagaisg air an eilean aig an am a' tilleadh dhachaidh. Aig aois ceithir fichead sa deich bliadhna chan eil leisg air Ceitidh Anna Nic Cuibhein feum a dh猫anamh de ghoireasan siubhal a' l脿 an diugh - helicoptair - gus tilleadh gu Eilean na Ron, a' faicinn mar a tha e an diugh agus a' d猫anamh dealbh air mar a bha e. Tha Ceitidh Anna cuideachd am measg an 脿ireamh beag de shluaigh aig am bheil an canan is motha a bha ri chluinntinn air an eilean, G脿idhlig sg矛re Chataibh.
In December 1938, Eilean nan Ron was abandoned by its people. This film accompanies one of the few surviving residents, 90-year-old Kitty Ann MacQueen, as she takes to the air in a helicopter to return to her childhood home - the tiny remote island near Skerray in Sutherland. During Kitty Ann's last years on the island, she was a school teacher and has clear memories of what life was like for the islanders. Despite having lived in England for 60 years, Kitty is one of the few remaining speakers of what was the prevalent language of the island - Sutherland Gaelic.
