Psychological thriller. Detective Will Dormer, a veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department, temporarily escapes an internal affairs investigation that may ruin his career by travelling to Nightmute, Alaska, to investigate the murder of a 17-year-old girl.
Evidence mounts up against a reclusive novelist, but the perpetual daylight of the summer months within the Arctic Circle wreaks sleep-depriving havoc on the detective's body clock and threatens his judgement.
