Your trust is very important to us. This means the 麻豆社 is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. It is important that you read this notice so that you are aware of how and why we are using such personal data.

Museum of Curiosity is produced by 麻豆社 Studios for broadcast, use and exploitation by the 麻豆社 (the Commissioner). We are responsible for handling personal information you provide, including your contribution; this privacy notice describes how we collect and use personal data about you during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with data protection law.

When you contribute to the 麻豆社, we may use your contribution in our programmes or content, but we cannot promise to use everything that we receive. If we broadcast your contribution, this may include the programme being available online and/or on demand, and your contribution may be used again in a future broadcast or any commercial release of the programme. It may also include use on the 麻豆社’s social media channels.

What information we collect and how we use it?

麻豆社 Studios will collect and process the information you share with us for the purposes of making Museum of Curiosity. This includes your first and last name, email address and the contents in the body of the email, including any attached written and audio material. We will use this information to to decide if your contribution will be used in the programme and to contact you, if necessary to arrange signature of a standard contributor release form before any footage is broadcast. 麻豆社 Studios relies on its legitimate interests as a media organisation to process your personal information. We will not process your personal information where your rights override our interests.

Sharing your information

Your personal information will generally be restricted to relevant members of the Museum of Curiosity production team and crew, as well as the programme’s presenters, or as otherwise required by law. Where necessary, we may also share information with other 麻豆社 Studios staff and the Commissioner, with our professional advisors, and from time to time with other programmes that may have an interest in your contribution.

麻豆社 Studios works with our approved third-party providers who help us to provide some of our services. These partners only use your personal data on behalf of 麻豆社 Studios and not independently.

We may share personal data with a third party where required or permitted by law.

If you would prefer us not to share your data with other programmes please let us know and we will record this.

Retaining your personal information

The information you have provided to us, or that is later collected in connection with the production, will be used by 麻豆社 Studios for purposes related to the production of this programme. 麻豆社 Studios will securely store the information you submit for a period of 2 years after broadcast of the programme. We do this in case we wish to contact you about your contribution for the programme or where necessary for related purposes, such as assessing your fitness to participate in recording. If we feature your contribution on the programme then your information will be further retained for that purpose.

If we decide not to take your contribution forward your details will be deleted 12 months after broadcast of the series. If you are selected to be part of a programme, 麻豆社 Studios and the commissioning broadcaster may retain some information relating to your contribution in perpetuity. If we believe that we may want to return to your contribution at a later date, we will retain your information (such as your submission, contact details and any other relevant information), for up to 2 years, in line with our retention schedule, unless you ask us not to.

Your personal data will be stored in the UK and the EEA.
