Asian Network Live 2016: The Line-up

Naughty Boy, Imran Khan, Badshah, Fuse ODG and many more performed at the first ever Asian Network Live on Saturday 30 April at London's Eventim Apollo Hammersmith.

Naughty Boy

Shahid Khan, also known by his stage name Naughty Boy, is a DJ, songwriter, record producer and musician. He’s produced top 10 records with Sam Smith, Wiley, Emeli Sandé and most recently Beyoncé. Naughty Boy also headlined at last Summer.

Imran Khan

Dutch-born Punjabi singer, songwriter, and record producer Imran Khan is one of the most popular artists in the Asian music scene. He is best known for his hit songs Amplifier, Satisfya and last year’s No.1, Imaginary. Set to release a new album this Summer, hear it first at Asian Network Live.

Badshah

Indian rapper Badshah worked with Diljit Dosanjh, Yo Yo Honey Singh & UK rapper Raxstar before taking Bollywood by storm. He has featured on soundtracks for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Sonam Kapoor starrer Khoobsurat and Jazbaa which starred Aishwarya Rai. His song DJ Waley Babu with became the party anthem of 2015 and Asian Network’s . This will be Badshah’s first ever UK performance.

Fuse ODG

Fuse ODG is best known for his singles Antenna, in 2013, and Dangerous Love with Sean Paul. His most recent song is with American electronic music group Major Lazer, who were behind last year’s international hit single “Lean On”. Expect some special collaborations at Asian Network Live.

Kanika Kapoor

Kanika Kapoor is one of Bollywood’s best loved play-back singers and will be making an exclusive UK appearance specially for Asian Network Live. She was one of the featured performers with Naughty Boy at the Asian Network Prom 2015.

Zack Knight

Previously championed by 麻豆社 Music Introducing, last year soul songwriter Zack Knight featured at 麻豆社 Asian Network’s and had three No.1s in the . At Asian Network Live, Zack will be performing his hits plus brand new single Ya Baba.

Arjun

Originally from Sri Lanka, the London-based singer- songwriter and producer became an online sensation for his Bollywood covers and fusion of contemporary Western and Eastern sounds. After being signed to one of India’s biggest record labels, he now performs his remixes of Tum Hi Ho, Chaiyya Chaiyya and Tujhe Bhula Diya, across the globe. Arjun will be performing new material at Asian Network Live as well as some surprise collaborations.

Jaz Dhami

Birmingham Bhangra star Jaz Dhami is now making his name in Bollywood, with his hit track High Heels to feature in Kareena Kapoor starrer Ki & Ka, which is released in April 2016. Jaz Dhami featured in 麻豆社 Music’s collaboration which also starred One Direction, Pharrell & Sam Smith.

Raxstar

Raxstar is a rapper from Luton who first came to prominence in 2005 with his producing partner Sunit and their breakout single Keep It Undercover. His hits include "the ultimate rap ballad" Jaaneman, the music video to which went viral accumulating over 3 million views on YouTube around the world.

Aastha Gill

Aastha Gill is the voice behind the massive hit Dj Waley Babu with fellow Asian Network Live performer Badshah – a song our own Tommy Sandhu is a fan of .

Born in Delhi, she made her name as a playback singer in Hindi films, starting her career with the song Dhup Chik featuring Raftaar and Badshah from the movie Fugly in 2014. We are very excited to include this rising star on our line up for Asian Network Live!

Divine

Mumbai based hip hop artist Divine makes his UK debut. He shot to fame when his video for Mere Gully Mein, where he raps about the streets of Mumbai, went viral. Divine was added to 麻豆社 Asian Network new music man Yasser's “” list, which tips the artists we should be watching out for.

Inkquisitive

Inkquisitive is a graphic illustrator and an artist from London whose colourful designs range from Sikh warriors to Hip-Hop legends including tribute pieces. His works have been shared by artists themselves including LL Cool J, DJ Khaled and J.Cole to name a few. He’s creating a special portrait - essentially creating an artistic piece that captures the vibrant spirit of the inaugural event.

Battle of Bollywood

Battle of Bollywood is the UK's Biggest Bollywood Dance Competition. The show brings together teams from all Universities across the country and engages dancers from all backgrounds to bring their talents to stage. Now having just finished their 2nd year, for the first time ever they have created a SUPER CREW which will be performing at Asian Network Live.

Paul Chowdhry

Known for his highly charged, dry observational humour, the British comedian and actor hosted the most recent series of Channel 4 comedy series Stand Up for the Week. He has also been a panellist on Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats and Comedy World Cup, and appeared Live At The Apollo on 麻豆社 2.
