Data Usage

The 麻豆社 and British Council are each independent ‘data controllers’ of the information you provide. This means that we decide separately what your personal information is used for, and the ways in which it is processed. The legal basis on which the 麻豆社 processes your personal information is the 麻豆社’s legitimate interest in producing a one-hour radio programme for broadcast on the 麻豆社 World Service.

The legal basis on which British Council processes your personal information is British Council’s legitimate interest in managing the acquisition of an audience for the same radio programme. The 麻豆社 and British Council have each balanced their respective set of interests in processing your data against any impact on your individual rights and freedoms. The 麻豆社 and British Council have each found that such impact does not override their respective interests. You data will not be shared with any third parties.

Deleting Your Data

The 麻豆社 and British Council will securely store the data you give us in your initial application for one month after the programme is first broadcast. After this time, that data will be deleted.

The 麻豆社 processes the personal data you provide on the basis of its legitimate interests as a media organisation to produce news and creative content, including fostering new talent. We have carefully considered the impact on you and will not use your personal information where the impact overrides our interests. We will retain your data for 12 months.
