What's under the Red Button?

There's more EastEnders action under the Â鶹Éç Red Button this Christmas

Red Button feature

Â鶹Éç Red Button launched more than 10 years ago and is currently used by 12 million people a week. Pressing the red button on any Â鶹Éç digital TV channel (available on Freeview, Freesat, Sky or Virgin Media) gives free access to a whole host of extra entertainment and information.

As well as the latest news, sport and weather, there's lots of other fresh content ranging from digital text services such as travel information or lottery results, to great extras and enhancements to favourite Â鶹Éç shows. There may be exclusive music sessions, play-along quizzes or chances to select different live events – some with alternative audio commentaries, or access to behind-the-scenes video.

This dedicated section in Programme Information will keep viewers up to date with the latest red button content from the Â鶹Éç.

Extra helpings of EastEnders at Christmas

After the episodes on 20, 23 and 24 December, viewers can access an exclusive extra scene which continues the show's key storyline and explores the relationships between the characters at the heart of Walford's Christmas drama.

Doctor Who Confidential

From Monday 20 December, viewers can press the red button and take a unique look behind the scenes of the 2010 Doctor Who Christmas special.

Ring in the New Year with Hogmanay Live

Join Jackie Bird and Phil Cunningham as they say goodbye to 2010 and hello to 2011 on Â鶹Éç Scotland's Hogmanay Live. The show, live from Glasgow, celebrates the New Year in grand style with a fantastic line-up of music as well as coverage of the amazing fireworks display that takes place at midnight in the skies above Edinburgh Castle.

The musical start to the year is a great mix of modern and traditional, all with a very Scottish flavour. That means there will be pipers, fiddlers and some fantastic singers who bring traditional and modern material – and even a bit of both. As well as some great musicians, the show reaches out across Scotland to sample parties further afield, which means "first footing" a very special party on South Uist in the Western Isles and a flavour of the street party going on in Edinburgh, as well as a great time in the Glasgow studios.

The show is going international with a live stream online, so share a traditional Scottish New Year at home and around the world with Â鶹Éç Scotland's Hogmanay Live.

Watch at bbc.co.uk/scotland and on Â鶹Éç Red Button – 31 December 2010 from 11.45pm.

2010 Unwrapped

Miranda Hart and guests take a comical look back at the fictional events of the year, with exclusive sketches and extra footage available immediately after the show on Â鶹Éç Red Button.

Christmas At The Archbishop's Palace

Chris explores the various rooms in the Palace, finds out what treats an Archbishop keeps in his fridge, and introduces a series of seasonal surprises.

The Yorkshire yuletide also features live music from Manic Street Preachers' James Dean Bradfield and KT Tunstall, who sing some Christmas classics. The York Minster choir will be present, as will 12-year-old choirgirl sensation Isabel.
