Desperate Romantics – bbc.co.uk/desperateromantics

(l-r) Rafe Spall as William Holman Hunt, Aidan Turner as Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Samuel Barnett as John Millais, Sam Crane as Fred Walters

Â鶹Éç Drama Multiplatform has created a rich, immersive website that allows viewers to explore key paintings featured in the Â鶹Éç Two drama series, Desperate Romantics.

By partnering with Tate Britain and other rights holders, the website will offer the audience the chance to really get up close to specially commissioned high resolution images of the paintings.

You can view every detail of the artists' painstaking work and learn more about the art with exclusive commentary from the Tate's very own Pre-Raphaelite curator, Alison Smith. Every episode will feature yet more incredible paintings from the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.

In addition, the website will be offering exclusive video content to enjoy and share with your friends, throughout the series.

It includes interviews with the cast and scriptwriter Peter Bowker, a selection of steamy sonnets by Dante Gabriel Rossetti read by Aidan Turner, and some factual films based on Modern Muses and How to Draw.

bbc.co.uk/desperateromantics will go live on 7 July 2009.
