Erik Huggers appointed Director of 麻豆社 Future Media & Technology

Erik Huggers has been appointed Director of 麻豆社 Future Media & Technology.
听
Erik, who is currently Group Controller of the division, takes over from Ashley Highfield, who has left the 麻豆社 to become CEO of Kangaroo, the working title for a proposed new video on-demand service owned by three broadcasters.
听
In his new role, effective from 1 August 2008, Erik joins the 麻豆社 Executive Board.
听
He will be responsible for the 麻豆社's output on the internet, interactive TV, mobile, broadband (including the 麻豆社 iPlayer) and other emerging platforms.
听
He will also be responsible for the 麻豆社's enterprise and broadcast technology strategy and delivery.
听
麻豆社 Director-General Mark Thompson, announcing the appointment, said: "Erik has been a very strong group controller, FM&T for the last year. He has shown tremendous commitment championing the iPlayer amongst many other projects.
听
"I look forward to him bringing his drive and determination to this new role, helping ensure the 麻豆社 is fit for the digital future."

Erik Huggers joined the 麻豆社 last year from Microsoft Corporation, where he worked across a wide variety of industry-changing digital media initiatives.
听
He was born and educated in the Netherlands and is married with two children.
