How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?

The bursary

Ìý

As viewers vote each week for their favourite Maria, funds generated from the phone voting lines will be set aside as a bursary to help those interested learn more about or help seek a career in music and theatre. The bursary is in two parts.

Ìý

The Maria Bursary

Ìý

A capped amount will be specifically set aside for the finalists from the open auditions process who made it through to 'Maria school' (approximately 50 girls) to help them further their interest or career in the genre after their experiences of this process.

Ìý

The FAB Trust Bursary

Ìý

This is an existing Â鶹Éç Charitable Trust to which the rest of the funds will be added.

Ìý

It will be open to everyone with an interest in - or seeking a career in - music or theatre, for example, a contribution towards fees for musical or theatrical education or lessons.

Ìý

Applicants can apply for any sum of money up to a maximum of £10,000 although most applications are likely to be for much smaller amounts.

Ìý

Application forms will be made available and all applications assessed by a selection panel.
