Carl Froch is a double senior ABA champion, a multi nations gold medallist and World senior amateur championships bronze medallist.

Throughout 2002 he's been getting to grips with life as a professional.

Those behind him expect great things.

Promoter Panos Eliades says 鈥淎long with Lennox Lewis and Paul Ingle, Carl is certainly in the top three natural talents I鈥檝e ever been involved with.

I think he鈥檚 got a great future ahead of him, and we鈥檇 not be doing him justice if he didn鈥檛 aim for a world championship.鈥

Froch is the latest in a long line of British super-middleweight talents, who have dominated the division for a decade.

In the early 1990s icons like Michael Watson, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank reigned, and then Steve Collins, Robin Reid and current king Joe Calzaghe took over.

Even on the domestic front, super-middleweight is one of the most competitive divisions in the UK, with Reid, Glenn Catley, Dean Francis, David Starie, Brian Magee, Toks Owoh and now Tony Dodson all chasing WBO champion Calzaghe.

So it won't be easy for Froch to emulate that other Nottingham world champion Jawaid Khaliq.

Not that he's going to be rushed.

鈥淭here are some great matches for Carl when he is ready,鈥 Eliades says. 鈥淏ut we鈥檒l take our time with Carl, we won鈥檛 rush him.鈥
