Sandmartins have taken up residence at Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station in Nottinghamshire.

The birds migrate from Africa to Ratcliffe-on-Soar every summer to make their nests.

The little birds, which usually burrow into sand or river banks, are using piles of ash at Ratcliffe-on-Soar station to make their homes.

A Powergen spokesperson says the company works carefully every year not to disturb the bird colony.
