Title - Gay Norfolk

Friendship and advice for women
by Jo Foster
WOW logo

WOW (Women on Women) is a Norwich-based group of lesbian and bisexual women founded in February ’96, working to enhance the well-being of women who sleep with women and the lesbian community in general.

Our aims

to create a safe place for women who sleep with women to share experiences, and to discuss common problems,
to provide information and support in a lesbian-centred framework, to develop and promote a lesbian perspective of women’s health issues, to meet other women and have fun!

Friendship and support

Drop-in or write to:
WOW at WHISS,
7a St. Benedicts St,
Norwich NR2 4PE
or
WOW, PO box 646,
Norwich NR3 3DB
Registered charity 1056719

There is a social drop-in organised by local women every Saturday from 1:30-3:30pm for befriending and support. It aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for women of all ages and backgrounds to meet, with a library, gay press, safer sex advice, tea and coffee. We also produce a bi-monthly newsletter. Write to us, or contact us by telephone through Lesbian Line, on (01603) 625822. If it is your first visit please arrive between 1.30 and 2pm - it’s quieter!

In the community
Meeting so many women through WOW has put us in touch with a local community pulsating with talent!
We have access to:
alternative therapies including massage, aromatherapy, hypnotherapy, bodywork and gym, Feng Shui and medicine-wheel, tarot and Reiki,
gay-friendly solicitors who are aware of the difficulties and fears we may have,
youth workers and mental health groups addressing lesbian and gay needs in Norfolk.
