Prince William may be used to uniforms and medals, posh suits and ceremonial robes, but it seems he loves a friendship bracelet as much as anyone else.

The Prince of Wales is in South Africa for his environmental awards show, the Earthshot Prize.

But on his wrist, eagle-eyed reporters spotted a blue and white bracelet saying "Papa".

When he was asked about it, the future King said it was made for him by his daughter Princess Charlotte for a Taylor Swift concert.

He said he had promised to wear the bracelet on the trip and "try not to lose" it.

The bracelet was made by Charlotte for her dad when they went to a Taylor Swift concert at Wembley, as part of her Eras tour over the summer.

Friendship bracelets have been a big part of the pop star's sell-out Eras tour and are regularly swapped with fellow 'Swifties' at her concerts.

That wasn't the first time that Prince William met Taylor Swift.

They performed a song together at a charity event in 2013, singing 'Living on a Prayer' by a musician called Bon Jovi, who provided the guitar for them on stage.

Prince William also spoke about how he, Princess Catherine and their children try to do their bit for the environment at home.

He said: "Every family tries to do what they can to help... and we go through the basics of recycling and making sure we minimise water use, turning lights off when you leave the house 鈥 we鈥檙e sensible with what we do around the environment. I think every family has those conversations."

But he added that Earthshot had far bigger ambitions.

"I鈥檝e brought the children along on that journey and I hope they鈥檙e proud of what we are trying to do here which is to galvanise that energy and enthusiasm to make real impact.鈥
