Geoff Parkins' daughter Lesley and husband Ben didn't need to worry about the weather on their big day - they married underwater off the Seattle coast, US.

Hilaria Kwakumey Saad said she had three different cultures to incorporate in her Gambian wedding in February 2011. "I am a Ghanaian American who married a Gambian. I had three different days of marriage, and friends and family flew in from the US and Ghana."

Nhlangano Nyembe and his wife Gugu Mntambo, from Johannesburg, South Africa, married in a Shinto Shrine in Ono City, Japan in August 2010. Nhlangano said: "This was probably the first wedding of its kind - a traditional Japanese Shinto, by two Africans in Japan."
