The venue for Radio 1’s Big Weekend is Burton Constable Hall, approximately 10 miles from Hull. Because of the relatively remote location of the site and the nature of roads in the local area, traffic restrictions will be in place and ticket holders will need to use the official event Shuttle Bus or Park & Ride service to get to and from the site.

Please do not try and drive to the event – there will be no public car parking available on site or in the local area, except that arranged in advance by Blue Badge holders (please see our Disabled Access Information page for full details.)

In addition, some roads in the local area will be closed, or have restricted access, meaning it is not possible for people to be dropped off close to the site, or collected from it, unless they are in a licensed taxi or private hire vehicle.

Finally, please note there is no safe walking or cycling route to and from the site.

Please take a few minutes to read the information below and then purchase your bus tickets. Shuttle Bus / Park & Ride booking has been extended until 5pm on Thursday 25th May 2017. Tickets purchased from 18th May onwards will be issued as digital print@home tickets only. You can either print out your print@home tickets or present them on a functioning mobile device.

Where will the Shuttle Bus / Park and Ride Service Run From?

Shuttle bus services will operate from:

  • Hull Paragon Interchange
  • Grove Hill, Beverley
  • Walton Street, Hull

Park & Ride services will also be available from:

  • Walton Street, Hull
  • Normandy Barracks, Leconfield

These services are being managed and run by our partners at Hull 2017 – full details can be found on their website:

Shuttle buses will run regularly to the site from around 9am until 1.15pm; with occasional services after this throughout the afternoon. Return journeys back from Burton Constable Hall will begin around 2.30pm and run hourly at first, becoming more frequent in the evening, until everyone has left the site.

How much will the Shuttle / Park and Ride Service cost?

Tickets for the Shuttle and Park and Ride service cost £13 per person. Secure parking will be available at the two Park & Ride sites for an additional £7.50 per car.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. Shuttle Bus / Park & Ride booking will now be extended until 5pm on Thursday 25 May 2017. Tickets purchased from 18th May onwards will be issued as digital print@home tickets only. You can either print out your print@home tickets or present them on a functioning mobile device.

Hull 2017 will not be operating a ticket reprinting and/or look-up service at any of transport locations. It is your responsibility to ensure you bring along the correct valid tickets/wristbands. You will not be permitted to board and/or utilise any services without presenting valid tickets/wristbands and will be required to make a new purchase.

For customers who fail to book in advance, tickets for transport services will be available for purchase on the day, but the price will increase to cover the additional administration costs. For full details please visit the Hull 2017 website:

Can I drive to the event and park there?

No. To try and minimise congestion only official buses and taxis will be allowed to access roads in the local area. There will be no car parking on site and traffic management restrictions will be in place. Please note, if you breach these, your vehicle may be towed away.

Can I drop ticketholders off at Burton Constable and pick them up again afterwards?

No. Again, to try and minimise congestion, there will be no drop off or pick up facilities at Burton Constable Hall itself. Drop off and pick up facilities will be available at the KCOM Stadium, which is a short walk from the Walton Street Shuttle service.

Can I walk or cycle to the event?

No. For safety reasons it will not be possible to walk or cycle to the event site.

Will there be special arrangements in place for Blue Badge holders?

Yes. A limited number of Blue Badge spaces will be made available on site; however they will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and must be booked in advance. For more information please see the Disabled Access Information page.
