麻豆社 Radio 1

Tickets for 麻豆社 Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Hull on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May will be made available from 9.10am on Monday 10 April.

We have over 50,000 tickets to give away across the two days, but we expect demand will massively exceed supply and that tickets will go very quickly – so there is an element of luck in securing one.

The booking process is outlined below and will be handled by Ticketmaster, working on behalf of Radio 1 and the 麻豆社. There is no need to register any of your details before 10 April; however, if you find tickets are available for your area, you will need an account with Ticketmaster to complete the booking. If you don’t already have one, time will be allowed to create one as part of the booking process; alternatively, you can set one up in advance via their website. Should you wish to delete your account after the event, this can be done via Ticketmaster’s customer service team.

We will post regular updates via and our to alert you when tickets sell out for any particular area or day.

Tickets will be available by phone; however, we strongly recommend booking online if possible – our online system is able to handle far more simultaneous transactions. Before applying, please find time to read the Rules and Regulations on the main ticketing page and the Terms & Conditions(T&Cs).

Please note, there is no ticket charge for the event itself, but a non-refundable event admin fee of £8.50 per ticket will be applied to cover ticket handling, postage and other event administration costs.

Ticket Restrictions

Tickets can be purchased in batches of 1 or 2 tickets per application; and you can only apply for one day at a time. However, if tickets remain for your area, you can restart the process and request tickets for the alternate day. Tickets are limited to one pair per person, per day. You can apply for tickets on behalf of others, please note however a maximum of four pairs across the weekend will be accepted on any one credit or debit card. Bookings over this limit may be cancelled, but fees will not be returned.

Booking By Phone

A dedicated phone number - 0844 453 9012 is available for those without internet access, but we expect lines to be exceptionally busy. Calls will cost 7p per minute, plus any access charge imposed by your phone provider. These vary and can be significantly higher for mobiles. Calls made before booking opens will not be answered but will still be changed.

If all operators are busy, a limited number of people will be placed in a queue, with the rest hearing an engaged tone. Call charges will still apply whilst on hold. In times of highest demand, phone operators and / or networks may be unable to connect your call due to line congestion and may play you a recorded message telling you this – again a charge may apply for this.

Booking Online

Shortly before booking opens, three links will appear on the main Radio 1 ticketing page.

  • The first is for those living in the areas covered by Hull City Council and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and allows them to access tickets reserved for those areas only. This includes everyone with a Hull (HU postcode) and some households with York (YO) or Doncaster (DN) postcodes.
  • The second is for those living in ‘surrounding areas’, defined as: those with York (YO) or Doncaster (DN) postcodes but outside the areas covered by the two councils above; and anyone with a Lincoln (LN) postcode.
  • The third is for those living in the Rest of the UK.

Carefully select the correct link for your area, which will then transfer you through to Ticketmaster for the rest of the booking process. Please note, you will only be able to access the correct pages via these links on Radio 1’s website.

Queues

We expect very high demand for tickets and some people are likely to be placed into a virtual queue.

With so many people from across the UK all trying to access the same website, at the same time, there is a high likelihood that some people’s internet connections will drop out. Unfortunately, this is something beyond our control and we are not able to help those who miss out on the chance of obtaining tickets as a result – for example, if connections are lost whilst in the queue, or during the booking process, but before the booking fee is paid.

If your connection does appear to have been lost, try opening a new window and re-starting the process. Please note however, refreshing the ‘queue’ page itself will result in you losing your spot in the queue.

Booking process

Step 1: The first page you'll see gives you the option to apply for tickets for either Saturday 27 May or Sunday 28 May. Click on the relevant link to start the process – you can only apply for one day at a time and a maximum of one pair at a time.

Note: If you try to select tickets before 9.10am you will see a message saying none are currently available and saying you should check back later. Tickets will not be released into the system until 9.10am. You will need to either reopen the page or refresh your browser at 9.10am to access the tickets, or be placed into the virtual queue.

Step 2

On the next page you need to do two things:

  1. Select the number of tickets you would like – choose either 1 or 2 in the drop down menu for the Quantity (‘QTY’) field. Everyone aged two and over requires a ticket for the event and each ticket admits one person only – so you should select 2 tickets if you are hoping to bring someone with you.
  2. Go to the 'Select Ticket Type' box and click on 'Enter your Postcode' (if applying for tickets reserved for the local area from Pots 1 & 2).

3. In the pop-up box which will appear, please enter the postcode without any gaps, taking care as you type, especially if it contains a 0 or O. Once the code is accepted, click ‘Apply’.

4. If you live in the ‘rest of the UK’, you do not need to enter a postcode – just go to the 'Select Ticket Type' box and select 'Tickets for UK Residents' in the drop down menu.

Now click 'Find Tickets' – and, if a pop-up box appears, confirm you're not a Robot!

It is highly likely that tickets will get snapped up very quickly and so you may see a message saying no tickets are available for the day you were asking for.

You can try for the other day, but if the same message appears it means others have got there before you and are in the process of buying all the available tickets. It is possible a very small number of bookings may not be completed – in which case tickets will go back into the pot – so you may want to keep trying until the site says “Sold Out”.

Step 3:

If tickets are available, you will be taken to a page where you can review your order. The good news is you can relax a little…as long as your internet connection holds, you will have a short period of time to complete each of the following pages – a countdown clock will appear in the bottom right hand corner of the page showing exactly how long you have. Your tickets will be reserved for you during this period, assuming you do not get cut off.

Step 4:

If you don’t already have a Ticketmaster account, you will be asked to create one. You will be given additional time to do this. Note, you can create an account prior to 10 April via Ticketmaster’s website should you wish to do so, but it is perfectly OK to wait until the day if preferred.

Please take care to ensure all your details are correct, especially your email address – if you get this wrong you obviously won’t get any emails from us to confirm details. This may sound obvious, but every year we get people putting .co.uk instead of .com, or misspelling their names, and then worrying when the emails don’t turn up!

Step 5:

You will now be asked for your credit or debit card details. Please note, if you are booking tickets from the ‘Rest of the UK’ pot, nothing will be sent to you in the post ahead of the event – and you will need to bring the card used when booking to gain entry into the event. We are doing this to try and stop people applying for tickets and then selling them online.

The address you give us needs to match that at which your credit/debit card is registered as checks will be made to verify this. We reserve the right to cancel any orders for which the postcode does not match that given when first entering the booking process. Full time students resident in the qualifying areas are perfectly entitled to apply for tickets from Pots 1 & 2, but will need to ensure their bank card is registered at their local address.

Step 6:

Once finished, you should see a reference number on screen. Please write this down, just in case your confirmation email gets lost in the internet somewhere!

Good Luck!
