Your Story: Linda Plows |
|
What was the fashion like ?
Hot pants were all the fashion with dresses to match. Minis midis were also in fashion.
How much was a loaf of bread ?
I can't remember how much a loaf of bread was.
Were did you live and were did you go for entertainment ? I lived in a two bedroomed upstairs flat, and for entertainment there were the pictures or the miners club.
What was your favourite pop song and book ?
I can't remember a favourite pop song but the groups I liked were Queen, The Beatles and The Stones.
What was your favourite clothing ?
My favourite clothing at the time was a black and white dress with hot pants. The style of the dresses hid my bump.
What year was it when you were twenty one and describe what it was like ?
The year was 1971. I was married for three years, and pregnant with my first baby, she was born in May at Thorpe hospital. I would say people were more helpful then, and young people respected their elders. But looking back things always looked better.
