Josephs

Seamus

Introducing: Seamus Cullen

From: London
Age: 35
Occupation: Sales & Marketing

Why should you be Joseph?
Aside from everyone telling me that I look like a Joseph (probably because of the hair) and apart from maybe looking good in a loin cloth, I hope that people will choose me for my voice and my acting. On a personal note, I want to be living proof that dreams do come true. I truly believe that I can make a contribution beyond the theatre walls.

Career highlight so far?
This may seem weird, but my biggest career highlight so far was actually a gig I couldn't do! Just being invited was a huge kick!! I was asked to perform at Live8 for two different artists; Madonna and Mariah Carey!! Unfortunately I had already said 'yes' to singing at a wedding on the day.

Dream role?
In addition to the role we're all competing for now, I have already thought that I would love to do something original and I would love to do something on a film! The film version of 'Moulin Rouge' is a good example and I have heard that there is going to be a film about the young singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley - that would be amazing!!!

Favourite song?
At the moment I keep hearing a My Chemical Romance song on the radio. I can't remember the name of it but I'm definitely going to get the album when I get a chance!

Hobbies?
Watching films, learning guitar and piano, singing (obviously though I'm trying to turn this hobby into a career) psychology, cycling, travel (especially to mountains and shores) and writing lyrics and prose.

Previous Experience
Seamus was part of the gospel choir 'Many Rivers', which culminated in various gigs and recordings, including the Hyde Park Proms Hammersmith Palais, Top of The Pops and Record of the Year with Westlife, recording on Shakin’ Stevens new album, working with Lee Ryan (he conducted the choir), singing at weddings and the Royal Albert Hall.

Seamus has performed in 'Half a Sixpence' at the Minerva Theatre. He's also been a TV/ film extra in 'Closer', 'Alexander', 'Phantom of the Opera', 'Footballers' Wives', 'Poirot' and 'Alfie'.
