Secateurs
Use for cutting through branches up to 1.5cm to 2cm (0.6 to 0.8in) in diameter. Keep them sharp and wipe off the sap when you’ve finished using them.

Long-handled loppers
Secateurs on steroids! The long handles give you increased reach and greater leverage to cut thicker branches.
Pruning saws
Use on branches and always cut so there is no stump left. Start from where it grows out of another branch or next to the trunk, to the point at which you leave the raised ‘collar’ round the base of the branch. This encourages bark to grow over the wound.

Long-reach pruners
Perfect if you have tall trees, as they save on ladders. Some also have attachments for picking out-of-reach fruits!
