In her First Night of the Proms debut, conductor Elim Chan presents Beethoven鈥檚 iconic Fifth Symphony alongside Handel鈥檚 Music for the Royal Fireworks and Clara Schumann鈥檚 tender Piano Concerto, featuring star soloist Isata Kanneh-Mason.

Verdi鈥檚 Requiem was first performed 150 years ago and given its British premiere at the Royal Albert Hall the following year. Ryan Bancroft leads the 麻豆社 NOW and massed singers in a performance of this vivid choral masterpieces.

Tianyi Lu conducts the 麻豆社 Symphony Orchestra in Puccini鈥檚 lyrical Preludio sinfonico, Dukas鈥檚 retelling of The Sorcerer鈥檚 Apprentice tale and a new Cello Concerto by Francisco Coll. Rounding off the evening is Stravinsky鈥檚 iconic ballet The Firebird

Aurora Orchestra and Nicholas Collon mark the 200th anniversary of Beethoven鈥檚 monumental Ninth Symphony by bringing their unique Orchestral Theatre approach to the iconic work with the help of the 麻豆社 Singers and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain

The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Kazuki Yamada present Mussorgsky鈥檚 Pictures at an Exhibition in an orchestration by Proms founder-conductor Henry Wood. Meanwhile Paul Lewis is the soloist in Mozart鈥檚 Piano Concerto No. 27

Holst鈥檚 suite The Planets is one of classical music鈥檚 most extraordinary acts of imagination. Student musicians from Helsinki and London unite to perform the work alongside Sibelius鈥檚 The Wood Nymph and a new piece from Finnish-American composer Lara Poe.
