About this event

David Hill conducts the an early and a late work respectively by two centenary composers. Britten鈥檚 A Boy was Born was written when the composer was just 19 years old and first broadcast on the day of Edward Elgar鈥檚 death. It is shot through with what John Bridcut described in his book, Britten鈥檚 Children, as 鈥榓n apparently childlike simplicity鈥. George Lloyd鈥檚 Requiem, written in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, receives its London premiere.
