World Cup 2006 Blog

From our reporters in Germany

England V Brazil. Kind Of.

glen_levy.gifBERLIN - I've already alluded to the unofficial World Cup which is taking place - when work commitments allow - in our table football area. Well, not so much an area as a gap between the water cooler and the photocopier but you know what I mean.
Yesterday, a match of simply epic proportions took place between Ian Wright of England and Leonardo of Brazil.

It was a first-to-five kind of affair and was less like a table football match - and more like a . Seriously.

And if "The play's the thing", then you wouldn't have wanted to missed this battle. And thankfully for you, you won't have to as I managed to film the denouement and will be putting out the highlights over the next couple of days on the World Cup Daily, complete with post match interview with the winner conducted by Gary Lineker.

Speaking of the Daily, please feel free to leave your nomination below for which member of our team you would like to quiz next. The guys have got some entertaining opinions and fascinating insights into both footballing and non footballing issues and it would be great to share them with you. Once we come to a decision, we'll get the ball rolling with your questions and the results should be available to view next week.

being optimistic, i think we will ethier face germany in the second round and get knocked out or face brazil in the semi and get knocked out then. but the winner of england v brazil will go on and win it so it will be almost like a final.

It's very important that England win their group. Finishing second clould mean playing Argentina in the quarters!

Why have the 麻豆社 chosen to put the "epic battle" of Ian Wright vs. Leonardo at table football up for viewing on the internet yet the BEST VT that has been run throughout the entire World Cup seems to have slipped the net. I am of course referring to the Kick Ups battle between Leonardo and Ian Wright where Leonardo displayed the most unbelievable skills imaginable to which was responded with Ian Wright's skills... the Almighty Toepunt! This clip was hilarious (Ian Wright) and brilliant (Leonardo) so 麻豆社... GET IT RIGHT!!!
