Baefest & a world record attempt

Martin Aaron Martin Aaron | 09:09 UK time, Friday, 18 September 2009

Bae Fest is a free one-day beach festival taking place on Swansea Bay, on Saturday, 19 September 2009. The event is all in aid of charity and prmoises to be a great day out for the whole family.
There's all sorts going on but one of the highlights of the day will surely be the world record attempt at the world's largest surfers chain happening in Swansea Bay around 5pm.

Last year saw 200 surfers in the water and organisers are hoping for bigger and better this time around.

If you'd like to get involved then be there around 4pm with your board and wetsuit to register. I might see you down there!

The Parkour team represented by professional athletes from Urban Freeflow, will be showcasing their skills.

Parkour
is normally done outdoors and consists of getting over all the obstacles in your path as you would do in an emergency.

Remember that amazing a few years ago, with a guy running over rooftops and jumping off things? That's Parkour!

There's also an eco-zone, skate ramp, live music, a surf movie playing in castle park as well as stalls and live music throughout the day.

As the sun goes down, the charity Baefest Ball kicks at Milkwood Jam in the city centre.

With a top line up of bands including The Mudskippers, Kalimist and Calico Street Riots, it's set to be an awesome night and there are some great prizes to be won in the raffle.
