The Welsh Clearwing has always been rare in the British Isles, only occurring in small parts of Wales, Scotland and Ireland in recent years.

I saw an unusual moth on my garden shed door yesterday.

I actually thought it was a wood shaving so blew it off the door and it flew away...I think it was a Common Plume moth.

It was the colour of sun bleached wood and had the thinnest wings of any moth I've ever seen.
