Russell Grant is searching for stars, but not of the astrological kind - he's on the look out for amateur actors for his planned production of Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood.

Grant, a trained actor, plans to take on the role of the First Voice - the role once occupied by Welsh icon Richard Burton.

In Grant said that he wants to use amateur actors, or those with no experience of acting at all.

“We want to involve professionals in theatre and film and get them working with people in the community – amateurs who like acting and people who have never done it before but who want to give it a try," he said.

Under Milk Wood will run for two nights, 30 and 31 October, at Portmeirion Village. Anyone interested in auditioning should send an email to victoria@russellgrant.com.
