Ruth Jones to star as Carry On's Hattie Jacques

Gavin & Stacey star Ruth Jones is set to star in a new one-off drama on the private life of comedy actor Hattie Jacques.
The drama, set to be screened later in 2010 on Â鶹Éç4, will examine the complicated love life of the Carry On legend, which saw Jacques embark on an affair with a younger man while married to Dad's Army star John Le Mesurier.
Jones said of Jacques: "She was an incredibly talented and fascinating woman both on and off screen and so much more than just the 'funny fat lady'."
