More than 60,000 people have now signed the petition in support of Alan Johnston, our correspondent in Gaza who was abducted on 12 March. And we estimate that the Alan Johnston button has been added to at least 500 blogs, websites, intranets, MySpace pages, LiveJournal sites, Flickr profile pages etc etc.

We are now reaching Alan's 50th day in captivity. Once again his colleagues have gathered to mark the moment he was seized. We released balloons to mark the event, and to signal our continued demands and hopes for his immediate release.

Several weeks ago I signed the petition weeks ago without leaving a message. What I wanted to say then and now is
"To me Alan Johnston was doing a very important job and like thousands of other listners, he was a familiar voice I did not want silenced. His courage is enormous and without him how would I know the reality of Palestine. At the moment I waiver between it may be too late and there is hope he is safe. He and his family are in my thoughts constantly and everytime I listen/click on I hope to hear/read he has been released."

Having just come back from working with UNRWA in Ramallah I realise what an important job people like Alan do. Together our positive thoughts can help.

My high request to the muslim or non muslin people in Gaza, Alan Johnston is a person who was innocent his duty to send message to this world that what is going on their. He is a person above than anythings. Please simply release him. My question to those people who kidnepd him, in which reason? If you are a muslim you should remember what our PROFET said,you can't do any hearm to any civilians, ALLAH wil not forgive YOU. NO METTER WHAT!!!

Could the Â鶹Éç not ask Google to help by placing Alan's picture and "Free Alan Johnston" below it on Google's homepage?
I added the button on my blog. It is very little, but it is something that we can do for the support of free flow of information in our time. Hope Alan Johnston is fine and will be freed.
I posted at my blog. I hope Allan makes it home safely to his loved ones, and while it's a risky business, I hope that none of my fellow journalists are plunged into a similar nightmare in the future.

Is this a civilized world we are living now, is there any value and respect to freedom of speech in this country, this Â鶹Éç reporters arrest should not be tolerated by peace loving citizens of the world
