Bernard Manning

I expected a flood of postings about Bernard Manning, but unless my eyes are as bad as the optician would like me to think, I can only find one reference.

"," says , "He dared you to laugh at him."

But will we see the likes of him again? Perhaps not, but makes this interesting observation, "Peter Kay is but a cleaned up version with tamer references to his Nana".

Well, here's my obit, if you can call it that:

Controversial stand-up comedian Bernard Manning has died at the age of 76.

Manning, whose brand of humour stirred up accusations of racism, was rushed to hospital with a kidney problem two weeks ago. A spokesman for North Manchester General Hospital said: “He died here at 3.10pm.â€

Kidney problem? So it seems he could take the piss out of everybody but himself.

What about Bernard Right On?

The quality of his jokes are superb:

"What do you call a sports car from Czechoslovakia?"

"Skoda De La Sport - quality and value for money."

"I wouldn't call my mother in law mean."

"In fact she is very generous, helped me and the wife out with the mortgage."

Bernard Manning was a very funny man, even if he was not PC.
