A lot of supporters may not have been familiar with the players before we came in to the . To put things into perspective; from our starting line-up against on Tuesday night, we had eight players who were playing in the EOS less than two years ago and two of those were in the same league only last season.

Make no mistake about it, this is a tough league and without disrespect to our former league, it's a lot tougher and, in many ways, this year has been so much harder than our debut season. A couple of things have let us down this season so far and they have been scoring goals and a bit of inconsistency and I put that down to the players still coming to terms with the demands of the SFL.

I've mentioned before about the need for each player to be on their game and concentrating 100% from the first whistle to the last and this is an aspect of our game the manager continues to drill into us. I think we're getting there and hopefully, since the game, when we let the club and the supporters down, we have shown that and will continue to do so against this weekend.

I was informed by Graeme Bell's father after the game that we have never won three games in a row in the SFL. I have to say I wasn't too surprised to hear that, but I thought our performance against last night certainly merited a change in that statistic. After a really poor start going up the hill, we got our act together and should have taken three points from the game.

That's the last two games I've been trying to get to shoot down the hill in the first half, but he's just not for it. I always feel it takes us about 20 minutes to get to grips with the game going up the hill in the first half and we sit far too deep, so it's difficult for us to press the game. Fair play to big Nelly, though, we've taken four points from the six available, so I shouldn't really argue.

I have to say that everyone at the club was really disappointed to read the comments from the Shire manager, , after our third victory of the season against them on Saturday. I think it says a great deal about our manager when declined to comment on opposition players. Yet, according to their manager, they were better than us even with 10 men, the players got their man sent off and our defenders were "big girl's blouses".

The club are holding a race night after the Elgin game this weekend and all the players and coaches will be in attendance to help raise funds for the club. It gives the boys a chance to get everyone together for a few beers and a flutter, but I can assure you we'll only enjoy ourselves if we get a positive result beforehand.

I'd like to finish this week by saying good luck to at the beginning of what is hopefully a bright new era and also to wish young a successful recovery from his horrific leg break at the weekend. Ramsey is a fantastic prospect and is young enough to recover from such a terrible injury to fulfil the promise he so obviously has.
