It's happened to other players this season and the funny thing is that I was actually expecting it.

I mentioned last week that had done himself no harm with his performance against Penrith and I thought he deserved a place on the bench at least.

When I looked at the other players in the squad, I had a feeling I might be the odd one out, but it doesn't make it any easier to take and it doesn't mean that I agree with it either.

I am still trying to take positives from the situation however.

That was the first time Gary had made it into a squad since the season kicked off, so it shows that the manager is taking training performances into consideration as well as reserve games.

Now it's up to me to continue what I have been doing in training and improve it if I can, as well as making sure I work hard and perform whenever I get the chance to play.

Every cloud has a silver lining and, by being left out of the squad, it meant that I could travel up to to stay with my girlfriend, Laura for a couple of nights.

In my opinion, we haven't started the season that well in terms of performances. We can maybe be forgiven the Inverness game, but we could certainly have done much better in the other two.

David Cox had the chance to nick us a point late in the game, but unfortunately his spot kick was saved.

The boys are extremely disappointed with the performance and result from Saturday and are all keen to make up for it.

We all worked hard on Monday night and that will continue for the rest of the week while we prepare for our double header with East Stirlingshire. I'm positive we will see a big improvement over these two games.

I'm not as confident as I'd like to be and , but hopefully we will get the result we need over in Norway.

Hopefully my prediction of a Scotland win comes true, Annan pick up their first points of the season on Saturday and I am back in the 16.
