Glad you enjoyed the theatre Chris. I always think it's good to see "tellybox people" doing live theatre - my fave to date has to be when I saw the utterly delicious Marc Warren in The Rise & Fall Of Littlevoice in London in 2009. He was spectacular, a proper revealation having only realyl seen him in Hustle. And Little Voice was played by Diana Vickers (she from the X Factor a few years back) and she too was fantastic.

Not so sure about the crumbs in the bed situation though Chris!

Well, it's been a long dark windy day here and I am now on countdown for my lovely man to come home, share the spag bol I've just knocked up and imbibe in a glass or two of warming red wine. It's what winter nights were made for.

Just dropped boy1 at a prom night fashion show! Don't worry, he isn't planning to go in drag - he's doing the musical accompaniment!

The evening is a fund-raiser for a trip the school runs to Namibia each year - pupils have to raise money towards the cost of their trip and some work they do on a school

Boy1 has helped at several of these fund-raisers over the last couple of years - it's only just occured to me we should have had him on a percentage - he'd have raised the cost of a whole trip now!

Deevs, hope that's the only snowflake we see tonight!

Hope all of you up North are tucked up safe and warm, it's a nasty one!

Glad you enjoyed the theatre Chris - last thing I saw was the Danny Boyle production of Frankenstein, only I saw it streamed version to my local cinema!!
I saw Jonny Lee Miller as the monster and Benedict Cumberbatch as Frankenstein, but as they swapped roles for every performance I'd love to see it the other way round aswell!

Tree has been purchased, and decorated.....but only after completely re-organising living room furniture, all for a 3ft tree on a table! And I don't like it so it may be moved again before Christmas is over!!

Decided to go late night shopping tonight to make a start on the pressies. What did we buy?
Well, apart from sausage and chips in Harry Ramsdens....................Zilch!
However, we have come back with a few ideas, so I shall venture in on monday to make some purchases and do the rest online.

just been checking down the posts to see that your all safe and sound ,and pleased to see that you all are, phew!!!

Thinking of you all north of the border , it must be frighting and hope it gets better for you soon.

Gail , I'm with you on OH job ,my mumsold neighbours did the same job ,were gone most of the night and only got a couple of hours sleep then they were out again ,very brave men .

Xmas movies ...Pola Express..Miracle on 34th Street...Jack Frost .with Michael Keaton...A Christmas carol..and Rudolph the movie..and loads more ,love em all , and I'm going to try and watch most of them while I'm off over the xmas break.

Good Morning all, from a slightly calmer West Somerset.

There have been some shocking scenes on news bulletins from further up the country, so hope that everyone is safe and well?

I've just been looking at the Chris Evans Breakfast show fb site. So far this morning, it has 636 'likes' and 132 'comments!' I wonder if there is anything that can be done, to encourage some of them to pop along and add a post or two on here.

It looks like my 'not totally bah humbug' approach to a Christmas tree has been scuppered. There will be a tree after all, but not me having to put it up all by myself this year. My Daughter has offered to take on the task, so I shall be looking for something of a reasonable size, while out and about at the weekend.

Shropshire seems to have missed out on all the bad weather blue skies with fluffy white clouds todays but cold.

Sausage and Egg sarnie is ordered - promise it is a one off but I just felt this morning that I needed a sausage and egg sarnie with brown sauce.

Glad to hear all the bloggers up north and over the border are okay, sounds like you have been through it up there.

I would love to see One Man, Two Guvnors - I have heard it's fabulous.

Thank you to all you lovely bloggers for your good wishes yesterday to us "up here"! What a day - but we were very lucky, no damage to property and both MrS and I made it home safely. I do know that conditions were very bad where Mary lives. I spoke to her last night, she is fine thank goodness, but I know some of her neighbours were having a terrible time.

Re: It's a Wonderful Life: oooh, try to see it sometime. As Annie says, it is indeed a feel-good movie and it shows how important we are in the lives of the people we know - we have no idea just how much.

Baggy: Congratulations! Very well done - I would be using those initials on all my correspondence if I were you!

Well it's a beautiful sunny day here on the south coast and I have the day off ,but it will be very much a busy day cleaning windows and washing nets and just maybe getting the tree up..

Birkenhead Market ? Reminds me of the first time I met Mr PJ. The venue was very crowded and he uttered the immortal words 'It's just like Birken'ead Market in here' Having at that point never visited that particular Market ( I have many times since) I couldn't comment. Now whenever the PJ's want to say somewhere's crowded - you've guessed it. Still can't say it the way Mr PJ does. It's something like Beark'nead - apologies to the English language !
