TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
I have two friends with me at the moment and they're...
...desperate for, well most things really but tonight in particular a good night out.
They would like to encounter things, people, experiences but they have no idea how to. This is an emergency, they are here for the duration of the show from now.
Please help ?
They have promised to sit by the blog for the next three hours and wait for suggestions, advice but mostly, to be honest, phone numbers and photos.
They are the two chaps who taught Natasha and I how to fly a jellychopter, decent, in their own way. Spencer is like a swaggering cowboy, without the chaps, rugged masculinity, horse and purpose. Though he is here.
Andy dresses like a detective seargent from a seventies cop show, with the quiet wit and private undiscovered intellect of a poor man's Morse.
In fact, come to think of it, they're a bit like Starsky and Hutch but without the frizzy hair or history of wife beating.

Andy, all I could offer is an evening chez Potters Bar where we are having an end of term bash. So you could have surrounded yourself with copious numbers of lovely vet students! Apart from the location, it's not such a bad offer!

Hmm, the Andy bloke, well all I can say is that he does sort of fit that description, I have always thought of him a looking more like The Hitcher, which is a scary, but cool thing to be.
And before we discuss remakes, I mean the original version. In fact all he needs is a dirty hanky tied around a couple of his fingers and he'll have cracked it.

Happy ARF all, bring it on. Oooo do we still get to choose which record to start with? If so, my suggestion would be something by the Specials - maybe 'A message to you Rudi' or 'Gangsters'. I'm guessing 'Ghost Town' doesn't quite hit the right note!

I went to Keith Burkinshaw's last game as Manager of Spurs at White Hart Lane, blimey I think I must have been about ten. Chas'n'Dave were there on the pitch before the game playing a few songs and they were blooming brilliant.
Go on Chris, I'm with Rosie play some Chas'n'Dave take me back to my childhood!

I phoned Sallys traffic 'otline yesterdee due to a 'ole in a crash barrier on the A1, yes a 'ole, causing a large jam up.
There was a lane coned off due to someone who 'ad earlier crashed into the barrier on a bridge, aka they went inter the bridge.... the place... Wentbridge!!!!!! (100% true)
CLP - Enjoyed the show yesterdee, liked yer dusting of it at the end (very funny) but the bit that got me thinking was the cockles article.
Got me wondering... does Dale Winton go cockling & camping???
And if so does 'e take 'is tent ter go cockling at Cockermouth bay in Cumbria????

So, here we go – the low-down on THE FIRST DATE . . . .
Furtive glances, embarrassed smiles, sweating of palms, quivering of lips, feeble conversations, all known clichés but coming loud and proud in full f-ect at various stages throughout the evening . .
Those of a nervous disposition, like my good self, will regard the cinema idea as inspirational as, we established yesterday, it creates common ground, allows breathing time between sentences, and ensures the spoken word is thought about a lot more before the journey from ear to brain to mouth is completed . . .
Where I did fall down though, was by choosing to sit in a VIP cinema room . . . in large comfy leather arm chairs – the major drawback being that due to a large leather comfy armrest between the two bodies involved , opportunity for hugging, petting, holding hands etc is not only limited, its not physically possible . .
Aside from the physical constraints of large comfy leather though, the evening did go well – the film, while gorey & violent is some parts is a hell if a piece of cinema – some of the shots are breathtaking, the story line is Coen-esque in the extreme and Tommy Lee Jones was the best I’ve seen him . .
So, here’s to no.2 next week, perhaps – we’ll see what’s around the corner.
